History

From the hotel Terminus to the Quality Hotel Saint Georges, there is only one step.

Built in 1897, this first class hotel was originally called “Terminus Hôtel” because of its location facing the railway station of Chalon sur Saône.

In 1952, Mrs and Mr Choux Gérard (parents of the actual director) bought this large house and gave it its actual name “hotel Saint Georges”. The entire infrastructure has been modernized: one bathroom per floor and one heater per bedroom was at this time a synonym of high comfort.

Finally, in 1984, air conditioning was installed throughout the entire hotel and restaurant.

Yves Choux joined the family enterprise in 1982 after having completed a large experience as cook with the most famous chefs throughout France such as Girard, Alain Chapel, Georges Blanc or at the Fouquet’s in Paris.

In order to complement this establishment, Yves Choux bought the building next to the hotel Saint Georges which became the brasserie “Le Petit Comptoir d’a Côté” and enabled the hotel to have 4 additional junior suites.

Between 1989 and 2009, Yves Choux and his wife Claude Choux managed Hôtel Saint Georges.

Since January 1st, 2010, Jean-Paul Madaleno (current owner) and his dad  started again this establishment.
